Strength is a word that has new meaning to me. It is so important to always take the positive path even when it is not always that visible at the time. You show your strength when odds are against you and you are at your lowest. I always thought I was strong and was able to get “things done” but now as I evolve into the woman I am today, I can honestly say strength is a quality I proudly own as mine. I learned that I can rise above anything even when there are people out there that believe different. I also have learned strength is going my own path and taking care of me first knowing when I do that everyone else around me will be taken care of as well."Take the path less traveled" takes on a whole new meaning in my life. I am loving life and confident in my strength that I can do it, and I will do it. This is a photo I saw online and it inspired this blog post. Alexis Bledel is a favorite actress of mine. She played the main character of my favorite show …Gilmore Girls. The series ended with her turning down an engagement because she wasn’t ready to settle, she needed to explore on her own for awhile. I one day do want to settle, but just like Rory, I am more eager to do things on my own for awhile. I thought before that settling down was the next step after college, but it doesn’t have to be like that. I enjoy myself more with the experiences I endured, both good and bad, and appreciate who I am today. I believe I wouldn't have become who I am today if I would have settled quickly after college. For that, I am excited for the day when I want to settle because I will be bringing the best of me into the relationship.
Alexis Bledel as Rosie the Riveter“She’s a symbol of women getting things done. It shows that strength is beautiful.”—Alexis Bledel, 27, of this summer’s comedy Post Grad
This link will take you to the other woman in history that have made and impact…not sure Michelle Obama should be in that category yet, but you know the media.
